GEORGE CLIFFORD "CLIFF" GARDNER It is with great sadness that his family announces the passing of Cliff Gardner, aged 75, Monday, October 13, 2003. He will be missed by his wife June; mother Elsie; sons, Greg and Ford (fiancee Gayle) and brother Don (Judy), many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and brother-in-law. Cliff was predeceased by his father George, in 1982. Cliff was born September 6, 1928 in Brandon, MB. He will long be remembered for his 60 years in radio beginning at CKX in Brandon. He moved to Winnipeg in 1949 to host the morning show in CJOB and later CKRC in 1956. He returned to CJOB in 1960 as Program Director. Not one to retire, you would have heard him of late on 100.7 CHNR. Cliff also leaves memories of unforgettable performances at Rainbow Stage such as Tevye in "Fiddler On The Roof," Fagin in "Oliver" and Alphie Doolittle in "My Fair Lady" to name just a few. He also won our hearts in numerous dramatic roles at MTC, made us laugh at "Beer N Skits" and lead the cheer at Winnipeg Blue Bomber home games where he was later honored as a Bomber alumnus and inducted into the Bomber Hall of Fame (media). Memorial service will be held on Monday, October 20 in the Garry Memorial Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. at 11:00 a.m. Donations may be made to the Palliative Unit 3E of the Riverview Health Centre, 1 Morley Ave. For those who prefer to send flowers - By all means! After all, Cliff was a "Gardner." "Kallo Taxithi Cliffie" Garry Memorial Funeral Home Cemetery and Cremation Centre 925-1120
