Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM (BILL) CLAUDE JOHNSTON July 19, 1933 - October 10, 2003 It is with great sadness that his family announces the tragic passing of Bill Johnston, at the age of 70 on Friday, October 10, 2003. He will be sadly missed by his wife Marjorie; sons, Shaun (Shirley), Jim (Leslie) stepsons, Craig Reader (Erin), Brian Reader (Vida), and Tim Reader (Laurie) grandchildren, Douglas, Daniel, Sarah, Troy and Meghan; his brother Ray; numerous nephews and nieces; and many close friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Edna Johnston. Bill was born in Winnipeg and spent his youth in East St. Paul. He joined the CN Express in 1952 and had a distinguished 34 year career, including five years as the Terminal Traffic Manager in Flin Flon. He was always very active in the community serving as President of both East St. Paul Curling Club and Community Centre, as well as holding several other volunteer positions over the years. Bill retired in 1986 and enjoyed square dancing, travelling and spending evenings playing cards or Yahtzee with his many close friends. He was a very proud father and grandfather and spent countless hours in hockey arenas and on soccer fields cheering on his family. We will miss you. A memorial service will be held Monday, October 20 at 11:00 a.m. at Klassens Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
