HELENE RUTH SCHWARK It is with deep sorrow that our family tree has been broken with the passing of our dear wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Ruth on October 13, 2003 at the age of 82 years at the Emerson Health Centre. Mom leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Arthur of 60 years; her son Ken and wife Carolyn; grandson Kerry (Jackie) great-grandson Ryan; granddaughter Corinne (Thorsten) Stanze; and great-grandsons, Alexander and Robert; her daughter Leona (Real) Tetrault; grandson Rene and granddaughter Lisa. She is also survived by her sister Elsie (Beckstead) brothers, Tom (Cathy), Walter (Ruth), Archie (Jean), Clarence (Betty) sisters-in-law, Anne Weiss and Annie Wagner, many nieces and nephews. Mom was predeceased by her son Robert in 1951; parents, Reinhold and Matilda Weiss; brother William; sisters, Florence, Mabel, Thelma and Anna. Mom was born and raised in Dominion City on January 23, 1921. She married Art on November 19, 1943 and they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on August 13. Mom and Dad farmed all their lives east of Emerson until 1977 when they moved to Emerson. Mom loved gardening, canning, baking and giving it to her family. She dearly loved to play the organ especially at Christmas, singing in the church choir, and reminiscing about family history. Mom was a fighter right to the end, putting aside her pain as long as she could bear until finally relenting and was admitted to Emerson Palliative Care. Special thanks to Doctors Woelk and Munsamy who cared for her throughout her illness and to the great staff at the Emerson Health Centre. Rest in peace, Mom. A funeral service will be held at Fredensthal Lutheran Church at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 17. Donations to Emerson Palliative Care or Zion Lutheran Church Fredensthal. Wiebe Funeral Home Altona Ltd. 204-324-5404 in care of arrangements.
