STEINUN JULIANNA FRIESEN (nee DANIELSON) May 21, 1928 - October 13, 2003 It is with great sorrow we announce peacefully on Monday, October 13, 2003 at the Grace Hospital with her children by her side, Julie aged 75, passed away. Julie leaves to cherish her loving memory, her husband of 52 years Ab; her three children and their spouses, Darlene (Hank), Bert (Jane) and Darvin (Edith) nine grandchildren, Tamara, Tanya, Scott, Kyle, Chris, Kaitlyn, Lawrence, Teresa and Corey; two great-grandchildren, Jade and William; two sisters, Helga Edwards and Loa Simpson; along with many friends and relatives. Julie was born on Hecla Island on May 21, 1928 to parents, Wilemina and Thorliver Danielson. Julie was the youngest of seven children. At the age of 17, Julie moved to Winnipeg where she met her loving husband Ab. They were married in 1951 and were able to celebrate 52 years of marriage on September 29. Julie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Julie had a passion for family and served many warm meals to family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, canning and especially family gatherings. All that knew her for her compassion and caring will sadly miss her. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Dr. George Hutfluss and the medical staff on the 3rd and 4th floor of the Grace Hospital for all their care and help over the past eight weeks. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 17 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. with a reception to follow immediately after the service.
