ELIZABETH MARGARET LAVALLEY (RUSSELL) 1946 - 2003 On Thanksgiving Day, October 13, 2003 our beloved Beth, wife of Ralph Lavalley passed away at the age of 57 years of complications from Huntingtons Disease. Born in Winnipeg on February 8, 1946, she attended school and resided in East Kildonan nearly all her life. When the illness progressed, she became a permanent resident at Tache Nursing Centre six years ago. After school, Beth worked at various jobs including Eatons Downtown, and after furthering her education was employed by CIBC and Naleway Foods. She married Ralph in 1965 and settled down to raise a family, which she cherished deeply. She leaves to mourn, her husband Ralph; her mother Myra Russell of Winnipeg; her son Richard (Candace) and grandchildren, Stephanie and Ryan of Thunder Bay; son Brian and daughter Leanne, both of Winnipeg; her brother Wayne (Florence) and nieces Nicole of Brandon and Renay of Toronto; and many cousins and extended family. She was predeceased by her father, Wilfred Russell in 1979. Beth was an avid reader and enjoyed a variety of crafts, cooking, travel, music and loved animals. She appreciated the thoughtful encouragement and support of friends, neighbours and various ladies groups to which she belonged. She loved to discuss social issues and politics. She especially enjoyed relaxing at the family cottage at Caddy Lake or cuddling up to watch her favourite TV shows with her "cute dog" Jessie. She also volunteered as Sunday school teacher at Immanuel United Church and at Deer Lodge Centre. Beth will always be remembered and loved for her soft spoken way, inner strength and beauty of mind, heart and spirit. We would like to express our deepest gratitude for the T.L.C. from the staff and residents at 3ABC Tache Nursing Centre and Dr. Permack. We would also like to express our thanks for the support of Sandra Funk of the Huntingtons Society Winnipeg Chapter and Home Care workers who helped guide us during the early stages of our familys difficult times and ongoing support from our friends and family. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 18 at 3:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy., with interment at Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Huntington Society of Canada, 151 Frederick St., Suite 400, Kitchener, ON N2H 2M2 would be greatly appreciated. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16 "Please hold her in Your arms And treasure her with care Make up for all she suffered And all she had to bear. Please whisper in her ear In case she didnt hear How much we truly love her And wish she was still here" "Love one another" Love, your devoted mother and family KLASSEN Funeral Chapel 1897 Henderson - North of McIvor - 338-0331
