CHRISTINA (CHRISSY) GORAL (nee EINFELD) Peacefully, on Friday evening October 17, 2003, Mom passed away at the age of 85 years. She was predeceased by her husband Frank in 1995. She will always be lovingly remembered by her children, Frank (Sandy) Goral of Winnipeg and (Steve) and Chris Calder of Selkirk, as well as her granddaughter Terry and (Trevor) Hunt and great-grandson Joey also of Winnipeg. Chrissy is survived by sister Catherine Einfeld, and brothers, Baibe (Bob) Einfeld, Clarence (Mary) Einfeld and George (June) Einfeld, all of British Columbia. Aunty Chrissy is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. Mom was born in Ashern, MB on September 10, 1918. She had nine brothers, Peter, Fred, Marinus, Leendert, Charlie, Baibe (Bob), Simon, Clarence and George plus two sisters, Catherine and Massie. She met "Dad" when the family had the bakeshop on Sherbrook and Logan. She and Dad were married on October 25, 1947, and lived happily together on Martin Avenue in Elmwood. As most of her siblings moved to British Columbia, Mom and Dad travelled there on numerous occasions. Their best times, however, were spent at "the Cabin" at Lee River. She was the poker queen. Mom was a talented seamstress and unbelievable baker. She will always be remembered as a feisty lady who could not resist helping friends and family in their time of need. Declining health prompted a move to Donwood South apartments in 2001. Although apprehensive at first, she adapted quickly and made many new friends. She also lived briefly at Amber Meadows on Pipeline Road in Winnipeg, where she continued to meet new friends. Her final days were very peaceful at the Misericordia Health Care facility where the level of care can only be described as exemplary. A sincere thank you to all involved. We would also like to thank all the medical and home care staff that have looked after Mom for the past few years, you guys are angels. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., entrance on Aubrey Street, on Wednesday, October 22 at 2:00 p.m. Donations gratefully accepted to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
