INA IRENE RICHARDS Ina passed away peacefully on Friday, October 17, 2003 at the Grace Hospital. Ina was born on April 10, 1921 in Doncaster, England. Ina was a proud member of the R.A.F. where she met Bob, the love of her life. They were married in Wakefield, England on November 16, 1944. After the War, they moved to Winnipeg where she and Bob raised their family. Mom was a long time member of the Shriners Womens Auxiliary. She enjoyed crafts, knitting and macrame. We will all cherish the beautiful ceramic and stained glass Mom made for us. Nana enjoyed spending time with her family. After retirement, Mom and Dad travelled extensively throughout Canada and the U.S., eventually purchasing a winter residence in Yuma, AZ. In the last few years, she missed travelling due to health problems. Ina will be sorrowfully missed by her husband, Bob; sons, Ian (Ruth) of Burlington, ON, John (Bebe) of Fredericton, NB, Brent (Evelynn) of Winnipeg and Lorne (Evelyn) of Winnipeg; as well as her grandchildren, Margaret (John), Matthew; Erica, David; Chris, Terri, Gillian; Colin, Marc; and great-grandchildren, Ruth Ann and Emma Rose. Ina will also be missed by her special friend and sister-in-law Gwen (Phil) Southall, and many nieces and nephews, especially Wendy Volk (Bill) and Randy Southall (Anita). She is also survived by her brother, Jack in Rossington, Yorkshire. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 22 at 1:00 p.m. in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. The family would like to express their appreciation and thanks to the staff on Station 1 at Tuxedo Villa where Ina resided for the past several years. We also thank the Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Service and Emergency staff at Grace Hospital for their compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
