BERNADETTE (BERNICE) RITA MARIE GAGNON August 29, 1931 - October 19, 2003 On October 19, 2003 at 72 years of age, with family at her side, Bernice Rita Marie Gagnon (nee Gougeon) became our guardian angel. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Nap; her beloved children, Pat (Don) Krueger, Ron (Barb) Gagnon and Michelle Poirier. Also left to cherish her memory are her six beautiful grandchildren, Michael, Jason, Jacqueline, Danielle, Nicole and Jacques. Mourning her passing as well are her brothers, Neil (Jean) Gougeon, Denis (Annette) Gougeon, her sister Alice (Roger) Clays, her sister-in-law Anna Gagnon, and numerous nephews and nieces. Bernice was predeceased by her parents, Athanase and Irene Gougeon and her brother Gerry Todd. Mom was dads best friend for 52 years and has left him with hundreds of memories to hold onto. Everyone should be as blessed as we were to have had her as our mother. She taught us many life lessons and we will carry on her legacy. She thrived on her grandchildren each of which adored their special grandmother. When her children were grown she followed her husband in real estate. She volunteered for the Norwood Legion Ladies Auxiliary for many years, sat on countless Parent Teacher Associations, and was a volunteer at Winakwa C.C.s bingo for 14 years where she was loved by all. Bernice loved to read, garden, work with ceramics and play bingo. She also loved to travel with her husband and family and enjoyed many happy and memorable years with dad at their home in Arizona, frolicking in Acapulco and Las Vegas. Moms bubbly outgoing personality, her sense of humour and her radiant smile won her many friends throughout the years. Cremation has taken place and a special remembrance and mass will be said on Wednesday, October 22 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Bernadette Church, 820 Cottonwood. Her honorary pallbearers are her children and grandchildren. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff on the Palliative Unit of the St. B. Hospital and to the wonderful homecare workers who took such good care of mom. Also a special and heartfelt thank you to Louise Kostenko (Moms adopted daughter) for her compassion, love and tenderness towards mom. Those special times together will never be forgotten. In lieu of flowers, donations in Moms memory may be made to the Palliative Care Endowment Fund, care of St. Boniface Hospital & Research Foundation, 409 Tache Ave. Room d1003, Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6 Mom - Always Remembered Never Forgotten Au Revoir Beau Ciel
