Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryREGINA HRAPPSTEAD (nee FUCHS) July 23, 1957 - October 1, 2003 It is with great sorrow that we announce the tragic and untimely death of Regina Hrappstead on October 1, 2003, at the age of 46. Regina is loved, mourned, and sadly missed by her husband Calvin, and her son Christopher. Regina was born July 23, 1957, in Selb, Germany. When Regina was six, she moved to Toronto, Canada, with her mother Erika. Regina met Calvin when she was 17, while working in a bakery in Fort Saskatchewan. They married July 2, 1977, and then lived in Fort Saskatchewan for several years, where Regina worked for Sherritt Gordan Mines as an accounting clerk. In 1984, they moved to Calvins birthplace in Swan River, MB, so they could work full-time on the family farm. Reginas focus was her family - she valued her time spent with them. Regina took great pride and pleasure in gardening and spent many hours creating a beautiful yard full of flowers. Regina enjoyed participating in the local 4-H; she spent several years as an assistant leader, and then as a leader of the Woody Whipper Snippers. Her family, neighbours, and many friends could always count on Regina to lend a helping hand or share a laugh, or a cup of coffee. Regina always saw the positive, her presence always brightened any gathering, and she had a contagious laugh. Reginas love and compassion for animals was known to many. Regina was predeceased by her mother Erika Bonkowski. She will be dearly missed by her aunt Erna (Alford) Hockendorf of Fort Saskatchewan, her cousin Susan Hockendorf of Toronto, her uncle Horst (Elfiede) Heisl of Selb, her aunt Otti (Erherdt) Heinrich of Selb, and her half-brother Georg Fuchs (and family, of Germany). Regina will be missed by her husbands extended family, and each of us considered her to be a true friend. She also leaves behind many, many friends. At Reginas request, cremation has already taken place. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 25 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Andrews United Church, 514 - 1st Street North, Swan River, with Rev. Salesi Takau officiating. A lunch will take place at the Elks Hall, 112 - 5th Avenue South, following the service. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102 - 310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, Suite 200 - 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6. Her Journeys Just Begun Dont think of her as gone away - her journeys just begun, life holds so many facets - this earth is only one. Just think of her as resting - from the sorrows and the tears in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days and years. Think how she must be wishing that we could know today how nothing but our sadness can really pass away. And think of her as living in the hearts of those she touched ... For nothing loved is ever lost - and she was loved so much. -E. Brenneman Honoured to serve the family, Paull Funeral Home & Crematorium 506 - 2nd Street North, P.O.
