ANNA JURKOW January 14, 1912 - October 18, 2003 It is with sorrow that Gordon, Norman and Sylvia announce the peaceful passing of their dearly beloved mother Anna Jurkow, on Saturday, October 18, 2003, at The Charleswood Care Centre. Anna was born on January 14, 1912, in Zerebki, Krolewskie, Poland. At the age of 18 Annas passport was stamped Canadian Immigration Danzig, June 25, 1930. On July 1 (Dads birthday) Mom arrived in London, England. On November 14, 1936, Mom became Mrs. Paul Jurkow and together they raised their family - Gordon, Norman (Joyce) and Sylvia (Norm). The arrival of grandchildren Michael and Gillian made their joy complete. Sadly Dad passed on May 27, 1987. It was shortly thereafter that changes in Moms demeanour and personality were noticed. Her dementia was setting in, and we slowly lost the loving parent we cherished. Each time we got together was a whole new beginning. Mom enjoyed her music and her walks and this sustained her during her stay at The Charleswood Care Centre. She was treated with care, compassion and dignity. For this we are forever grateful. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 24 at 10:30 a.m. at Thomson Funeral Chapel, 669 Broadway, Winnipeg, Rev. Father Barry Schoonbaert officiating. A private family interment will take place in Holy Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Moms name to Alzheimers Research at the St. Boniface Hospital and Research Foundation, 409 Tache, Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6. We love you mom. God bless you.
