ISADORE SEGAL It is with great sorrow that the family announces the passing of Isadore Segal on October 21, 2003. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his children and family: Sons, Preston (Miriam), Howard (Carol), Mark (Gail) grandchildren, Michael (Marla) Segal, Stephen (Mara) Segal, Charles (Jennifer) Segal, Lynn (Adam) Levy, Adam Segal, Jennica, Jamieson, and Analeisa Segal; great-grandchildren, Julia, Ashley, Brooke, Benjamin, and Samuel; and his good friend, Merly Bolante. In addition to his parents, Haskel and Mollie, Issy was predeceased by his beloved wife Jennie in 1991, as well as his siblings, Morris and Sarah. Issy was born April 1, 1923 in Winnipeg. Married in 1941, Issy then served his country during the Second World War and was stationed throughout Canada until his honourable discharge. Issy returned home to his young family, and became involved with the fur trade, first as a cutter, then foreman. He then began working for London Life, where he excelled in sales. He was promoted to Manager of the top Canadian Sales Staff and moved to Toronto for several successful years. He moved back to Winnipeg in 1971 where he continued with London Life until retirement. Funeral services were held October 22, followed by interment at the Shaarey Zedek Cemetery. Pallbearers were his beloved grandsons, Michael, Stephen, Charles, and Adam; son Mark, and Warren Zimmerman. Billy Weisman officiated. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or the charity of your choice.
