EUGENE EDWARD SKEHAR Peacefully on October 18, 2003 our dearly beloved husband and father, Eugene Skehar passed away at the age of 73 years at the Health Sciences Centre. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Mary and leaves to mourn and cherish his memory, his wife Ollie and daughter Melanie; brother Boris and his wife Olga; nephew Glenn (Nancy) niece Mary-Anne; and one cousin Rose Marie Sorochuk of Thunder Bay, ON. Eugene was a dedicated employee of the City of Winnipeg having retired in 1991 after 42 years of service. In his line of work, he developed many friendships which lasted throughout the years. Eugene and Ollie married in 1961 and soon after the birth of daughter Melanie, they became members of the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral. He also was a member of the Order of St. Andrew, having held the position of treasurer for many years and belonged to the City of Winnipeg Retirees Association. Gene was a most devoted and caring husband and father. Prayers will be said on Sunday, October 26 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 27 at 10:00 a.m. also at the chapel with Very Rev. Fr. Henry Lakusta officiating. Interment will follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made in Eugenes memory to a charity of choice.
