GUY MAURICE De CLERCQ Guy was born in Dryden on September 6, 1962 to Raymond and Marie De Clercq. He was raised and educated in Dryden, and spent the remainder of his life in the Dryden area. Guy met and married Ali Cole and together they had a daughter Drew. Beginning his working career at an early age, he worked with his parents, subsequently becoming a class A mechanic. Guy was the manager of R & M De Clercq Ent. Ltd., Centennial Sewage and Disposal Division. Besides being an expert welder, he was very skilled in his woodworking and carpentry hobby. Building his own dream home, he crafted beautiful model trucks from wood. Guy was an outdoors enthusiast, loved hunting, fishing, golfing and was a Nascar racing fan. Family was most important to him, especially his daughter Drew. He was very fond of his dogs Abby and Buster Brown. Guy thoroughly enjoyed music and as a D.J. managed Sound Sensations. Guy passed away on Monday, October 20, 2003. Guy was predeceased by his grandparents, Maurice and Mary De Clercq and Gus Mol and Mary Deneweth; uncles, Bill Becker, Bob Hamilton and Wally Prokipchuk; cousins, Ron Schmidt and Kieth De Clercq. He is survived by his wife Ali; daughter Drew; parents Raymond and Marie De Clercq; sister Donna May (Chris Brisson) niece Michelle St. Laurent and nephew Marc St. Laurent, all of Dryden; uncles, George (Rena), Imperial, SK, Ken (Rita), Parkesville, BC, Denny (Linda), Edmonton, AB and Ernie (Myrna) Mol, Pinawa, MB; aunts, Jo Becker, Lac Du Bonnet, MB, Lorrian (Leo) Schmidt, Winnipeg, MB, Linda (Norman) De Clercq, Winnipeg, MB, Louise Hamilton, Edmonton, AB and Irene Prokipchuk, Winnipeg, MB. Guy is also survived by numerous cousins and his father and mother-in-law Ted and Shirley Cole. A service to celebrate the life of Guy will be held on Saturday, October 25 at 1:00 p.m. at the Dryden Community Funeral Home with Mr. John Mulders officiating. Interment of ashes at a later date. If friends so desire, donations may be made to Drew Marie De Clercq Education Fund through the Dryden Community Funeral Home, 249 Grand Trunk Ave., Dryden, ON P8N 2X3.
