RENE PAUL GREGOIRE November 21, 1955- October 20, 2003 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Rene Gregoire, loving husband, father, friend and super mechanic. Rene was raised in St. Norbert, the son of Albert and Louise (nee Very) and the youngest of four boys. At the tender age of four, he could be seen driving the family car, while sitting on his mothers lap, up and down the driveway. The only thing that distracted Rene from his cars, was the love of a young, beautiful waitress at the Niakwa Pizza. After a lengthy courtship, Rene was married to Lisa Schurko...September 18, 1982, who remained the love of his life. It didnt take long before Rene had to share some of this love with their two energetic daughters, who were raised in Transcona, where he was a valued member of the community. Rene will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife Lisa and his daughters, Nicole and Michelle. Alex (Nicole) and Justin (Michelle) will always cherish the many hours spent in Renes garage, learning everything from mechanics to the "real world". Alex and Justin became not only Renes friends, but the sons he never had. He will also be remembered by his brothers, Roger (Wendy) and Claude (Donna) stepsiblings, Sheralee, Brent, Lorraine, Linda and Mark Boux. Lisas parents, Orval (Eva), Evelyn (Ron) and siblings, Brent, Cathy, Darren (Andrea) and Kim (Al). He was also blessed with many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, godchildren and friends. He is predeceased by his father, his mother, his brother, Guy (Linda). His dog Macksym and before him, Sage and Duker, were always devoted and loyal to a master who spent many hours training them. Rene was an active and proud father. He spent much of his free time coaching his girls in baseball, taking them right through to many championships. He could often be heard talking about how talented his family members were. He loved his work, taking much pride in his own mobile service, remaining reliable to his clients. All those who depended on his judgement and expertise in repairing or purchasing a vehicle, will find that the job cannot be done with the same care that Rene showed. When he wasnt with his family or friends, in the garage or at Robins Donuts, he loved to fish, curl, golf, go camping, ski in the mountains and play tennis and baseball. No words can express how special Rene was to everyone who knew him. We will all miss him so much. For those who would like to pay their respects, there will be a service on Friday, October 24 at the St. Norbert Roman Catholic Church, 80 St. Pierre at 2:00 p.m. For those who wish to honour Renes memory, you may do so by making a contribution to Park City West Community Club Inc., girls softball program, where Rene spent many years coaching. Your three girls Miss you and will Love you forever. xo
