BRIAN DWAYNE DORION Suddenly on Saturday, October 4, 2003, Brian Dwayne Dorion, known to many as "Doorknob," passed away on the Opaskwayak Cree Nation at the age of 39 years. Brian was born Wednesday, January 1, 1964 at The Pas, MB. He lived all his life at The Pas and on Opaskwayak Cree Nation, and received all his education in The Pas. Together with their parents in Thompson, at the tender age of two and a half years, Brian met his life-long partner, Nancy, with the exception of 14 years, Brian and Nancy were blessed to spend the rest of their life together, along with his children, Amanda and Trevor and his grandchildren, Autumn Victoria and Kolby Dane. Brian was an exceptional person who enjoyed his family and friends, no words will ever describe the love he felt for Trevor, Amanda, Victoria, and Kolby. Till the time of his passing, Brian was a dedicated employee of Opaskwayak Cree Nation at the Gordon Lathlin Memorial Centre, where as everyone knows, was his second home, of which he was extremely proud, everything at the arena had to be perfect for the people to enjoy the games. His passion was the game of hockey, right from Minor Hockey to Oldtimers (Golden Bullets) and very proud to be classified an Oldtimer. He was known as the "Indian Mr. Clean." He always made everyone feel welcome in his presence, children were very comfortable around him, he was well-received by the children and earned their respect. Brian loved all kinds of sports, one of his other passions was golf, even though it was a short time, he enjoyed the game and the friendships that emerged from the sport. Brian loved all kinds of music, he was the kind of person who would say this to just about every song, "Do I ever like this song." He loved to cook, two of his specialties were hash browns and eggs, and spaghetti. Brian is survived and lovingly cherished by his life-long partner, Nancy; children, Amanda (Chris) and Trevor; grandchildren, Autumn Victoria and Kolby Dane; Mom and Dad, Darlene and Don Dorion; sisters, Lucille Dorion, Rhonda (Gary) Ross; foster sister, Candice Wilson; brothers, David (Patricia) Dorion, Dean (DeeDee) Dorion, Dwayne Dorion; grandmother, Toni Leach; mother-in-law, Olive McGillivary; Grampa Father John Dorion, many nephews, nieces, aunties, uncles, in-laws and many other relatives, too numerous to mention. A wake service was held Wednesday, October 8 and Thursday, October 9 at the Church of Redeemer Parish Hall, Opaskwayak Cree Nation. The funeral service was held Friday, October 10, 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cathedral The Pas, MB with Fr. Raphael Glofcheski presiding, assisted by Rev. Jim Sayese. Interment took place in the Big Eddy Cemetery, Opaskwayak Cree Nation, MB. Hemauer Funeral Home, The Pas, in care of arrangements. 1-204-623-3261
