OLGA JASENOVEC (JASEN) After a lengthy illness, Olga passed away at the Seven Oaks Hospital on October 22, 2003 at the age of 78 years. Olga was predeceased by infant son Vladimir in Germany and infant Leonid in Sao Paulo, Brazil and daughter Lana (Mrs. Butters) in Winnipeg. She is survived by her husband Vladimir; son Alexander (Dianne) granddaughter Kristina of Calgary; grandsons, James, Gregory and Douglas Butters; and great-granddaughter Emma Butters of Vancouver. She was born December 27, 1924 in Kolenkovich, Belarus. At the age of five years she lost her mother to a mystery illness then in 1933 her father was taken away by Soviets and never returned home. Her younger sister died of famine. In 1943 she met Vladimir and was married on June 20, 1943. In the forced labour camp in Germany Svetlana was born. In 1948 they tried to make a living in Brazil but decided to look for another place to live and in 1954 came to Canada. They worked on a farm in the town of Tabor, AB. Olga worked for General Window Products for many years before retiring in 1987. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 25 at 10:00 a.m at the Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Cathedral, 643 Manitoba Ave., with Rev. Fr. Mirone Klysh officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
