ANNE KISIL Peacefully on October 22, 2003, Anne Kisil passed away at the Holy Family Nursing Home at the age of 85 years. Anne was predeceased by her mother Marie; father Stephen; sister Olive; and brothers, Michael, Harold, and Walter. Left to cherish her fond memories are her brother Peter (Ann), sister Alice Prytula and many nieces and nephews. Anne was a kind, thoughtful, caring person who resided at the family residence at 501 Larsen in East Kildonan for the past 82 years. With the passing of her mother at an early age, Anne being the eldest daughter took on the household responsibilities becoming the "mother image" of the family. She nurtured and supported her sisters and brothers and cared for their ailing father until his passing in 1974. She was unselfish, devoted to serving her family, one who enjoyed sharing in the lives of her nieces and nephews. Anne found peace in her prayers at her parish of Holy Eucharist Church. Heartfelt appreciation is extended to Kay Kormylo (her longtime friend), to Bob Glenn (neighbour) and family who came to her aid in time of need. Prayers will be said on Sunday, October 26 at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Watt Street and Munroe Avenue. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, October 27 at 10:00 a.m. also at the Church with Rev. Fr. Darren Kawiuk officiating. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Annes nephews, Jack Kisil, David Kisil, Ronald Kisil, Glenn Kisil, Daryl Prytula and niece Cheryl Pierce. A special thank you is extended to the Sister Servants of Mary Immaculate for their prayers and presence, along with the respectful caring staff of the Holy Family Nursing Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Sister Servants of Mary Immaculate at the Holy Family Home at 165 Aberdeen Ave. God bless you Anne, may you rest in peace.
