THERESE PICHE (nee PAINCHAUD) Peacefully, on Monday, October 20, 2003, at Tache Centre, Therese passed away at the age of 89 years. Born in Fannystelle, MB, on February 17, 1914, Therese is survived by her son Rene Piche, his two sons, Daniel and Robert; and her sister Madeleine Poitras. She was predeceased by her husband Gabriel in 1991; her parents Eugene and Maria (Arnal) Painchaud; her brothers, Clement, Raymond, Andre and Gustave; and two of her three sisters, Marie (married to Leon Saquet), Marcelle (married to Gaspard Piche). Therese was very devoted to her family and greatly enjoyed the company of her two grandsons. Her desserts and especially her chocolate cake and chocolate raisin cookies will be missed. An accomplished piano player during her teens, she was the hometown church accompanist for eight years until her wedding day. She recalled many times the hours of delight she experienced playing the home organ while accompanying her sister Madeleine, singing the hit songs of the time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, Unit 10 - 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2. A commemorative service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 26 at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons St. Interment of the cremated remains will take place at a later date in Fannystelle.
