VIOLET ESTELLE BERYL JOSETTE PRESTON (nee KNIGHT) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Violet Estelle Preston (nee Knight) on October 22, 2003 at St. Boniface Hospital, Winnipeg. She was born on January 16, 1922, at the Shoal Lake District Hospital, the youngest daughter of John and Frances Knight. Violet grew up north of Solsgirth and received her education at Dowsford Elementary School. She later met and married Lyal Preston and together they farmed the family farm north of Shoal Lake until they retired into Brandon in 1985. Violet was predeceased by her husband Lyal in 2001 and her son-in-law Robert Arabsky in 2002. Surviving relatives are her children, son Dennis (Judy) of Russell, MB; daughters, Laural of Dugald, MB and Wendy (Dennis) of Pinawa, MB; five grandchildren, Chad, Ryan and Scott Preston of Russell, Alison and Geoff Chen of Pinawa. She also leaves two brothers, Ted from England, Stan (Doris) of Port Elgin, ON; and one sister Florence of Winnipeg; numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed. MOTHER You can only have one mother, loving, kind and true. No other friend in all the world will be so true to you. To hear her voice, to see her smile, to sit and talk with her a while, to be together in the same old way, would be our dearest wish today. The family wish to thank the staff on 5A at St. Boniface Hospital for their kind and loving care. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 25 at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons St. A private interment will take place at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens.
