Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBEATRICE ESTHER FLEMING (nee CONNELL) Born June 7, 1908, in Winnipeg, to Thomas Alfred Connell and Marion Connell (nee Kerruish), died peacefully on Monday morning, October 13, 2003, at Central Park Lodge-Glenwarren in Victoria, BC, of multiple physical impairments. Bea is survived by her sister Edith Davidson of Victoria and was predeceased by her husband Charles E. Fleming in 1984. She was educated in Winnipeg public schools, Ste Marys Academy and graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Arts in 1930. Bea was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority and of the University Womens Club. Beatrice married Charles Edwin Fleming on January 3, 1944. She taught for 35 years in the Winnipeg public school system and enjoyed a lifelong interest in music and working with music festivals. Beatrice passed onto her students and choirs her enthusiasm and love for learning, literature and music. Upon retirement, Beatrice and Charles moved to Victoria in 1979. She was a member of First Metropolitan United Church and the University Way Unit of the UCW. Her later years were supported with respect and loving care both at Douglas House and Glenwarren. A memorial service and reception will be held at McCall Bros. Family Chapel, Johnson at Vancouver Street, on Wednesday, October 29 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Margaret Harper of First Metropolitan United Church officiating. Following cremation, there will be an interment at the Brookside Cemetery in Winnipeg. McCall Bros. of Victoria (250) 385-4465
