DONNELL DOOLEY (nee DYE) Peacefully on October 23, 2003, Donnell passed away. She was predeceased by her parents, Julia and Fred Dye. She is survived by her loving husband Robert; son Wayne (Sharon) grandchildren, Jared and Kristen; daughter Karen (Bryan) Harder; sisters, June (John) Cowan and Valerie Cameron; niece Laura; nephew Donald and stepdad Doug Wilwand. Donnell was born on November 17, 1942 and grew up in Winnipegs West End until her marriage to Robert in 1962, they then moved to Windsor Park where they lived until her husbands retirement in 1995. Prior to retirement, Donnell enjoyed working at Little Peoples Place Day Nursery in Windsor Park. Donnie loved the outdoors and spent many happy times with her family at Betula Lake where she enjoyed swimming, fishing, walking in the woods and snowmobiling. In 1995 Donnie and her husband sold the house and cottage and bought their retirement home in Lac du Bonnet. Donnell was a member of the Health Auxiliary and was a volunteer cook for the Adult Day Care. She had many talents with needle and thread and enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint, sewing and was always ready to try a new craft. She especially enjoyed making crafts for her friends, relatives and grandkids. The family would like to thank the staff at Concordia Oncology and Pinawa Hospital as well as the palliative care volunteers for being there to care for our wife, mother and grandmother. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. In keeping with Donnells wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Monday, October 27 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so desire, donations may be made in Donnells memory to a charity of your choice or to CancerCare Manitoba, 109-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
