BARBARA (BABS) ANNE MARIE LOPATA (nee CHENIER) Peacefully early Sunday, October 19, 2003, Barbara (Babs) Lopata passed away at the Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre. Interment has already taken place, without a funeral, as was Barbs request. Left to cherish her memory are her husband Stanley of Winnipeg; brothers, Larry (Daniel) Chenier and Michael Chenier, his Wanda and their son Kevin, all of Surrey, BC; her aunts, Anita Conrad of Abbotsford, BC, Natalie Reid of Thunder Bay, ON, Hilda Davey of Edmonton, AB; and uncle Walter Conrad of Thunder Bay; also, her brother-in-law Vincent Lopata of Pinawa, MB; sister-in-law Elizabeth (Betty) Leitch, her husband Don of Victoria, BC, and their two children, Andrew and Rae, of Winnipeg, MB; also, her estranged father Ernie Chenier of Winnipeg; as well as numerous cousins and friends, especially those she worked with at Central Park Lodge where she was employed for more than 25 years. Barbara was predeceased by mother Adelia (Daisy) Rajala in 2000; and her stepfather Sulo Rajala in 1993, of Abbotsford. Her husband and family would like to express their appreciation to the doctors and staff of the Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre, especially those on Ward GA4 for making her last days as peaceful and painless as possible; also, her husband would like to express his appreciation to his co-workers and friends at Manulife for their support and help over these past weeks. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barbaras memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
