JOSEPH WERBITSKI 1906 - 2003 Joseph Werbitski, beloved husband to Barbara, passed away during his 97th year in the early hours of October 24, 2003. He was born on March 15, 1906. He immigrated to Canada from his native Poland as a young man in 1928. With the help of his older brother Stanley, Joseph became established in the shoe repair business in Norwood. He owned and operated Joes Shoe Repair until his retirement. Joseph married Barbara Podolsky in 1939 beginning a relationship that lasted 64 years. Their daughter Beverley will be forever grateful for the help, care and understanding provided. Besides his wife Barbara, he leaves to cherish and celebrate his memory, daughter Beverley Nicholson; grandson, Mark and his wife Alma; brothers, John and Frank in Poland, in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Joseph was predeceased by his parents, Barry and Ann; sister Mary; brothers, Nicholas and Peter of Poland and Stanley and Michael of Winnipeg. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 28 at 11:00 a.m. in Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy #1 East at Navin Road with Rev. Don McIntyre officiating. Viewing one-half hour prior to service. Interment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Michael Yarmie, Gabe Girard, Richard Petrowski, Ken Werbecki, Darrell Durling and Fred Pantel. The family wishes to thank the staff at Holy Family Nursing Home for the care and comfort extended to Joseph. Special thanks to Fred Pantel for all the support he has given to the family.
