Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSEPH DEMARCKE Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 24, 2003 at Foyer Valade in Winnipeg at the age of 89 years. He is survived by his wife Rolande of 64 years; his eight children, Madelaine (Tony), Andy (Irene), Lucille (Roger), Irene, Hector (Annette), Roland, Raymond (Rhonda), and Noel (Doris) 25 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He is survived by his sisters; Helen Romanow, Lillian Blahink, and one sister-in-law Denise Demarcke. Joseph was predeceased by sisters Anna and Marie: brothers, Leopald, Victor, Pete and Theophil; sons-in-law Lionel, Adelmar and Raymond; and granddaughter Joanne. Joseph was born on November 15, 1913. He married Rolande on October 21, 1939. They had eight children and raised them on a farm outside of Ile-des-Chenes. In 1973, Dad retired and moved into Ile des Chenes where he made his home till April 2001 when he went to Foyer Valade. He was involved in many committees and also was a Knight of Columbus member for many years. He enjoyed playing cards, dancing and cooking where he retired. He always took pride in his yard and garden. He loved to share his fruits and vegetables with his neighbours. "Dad, your family loves you, and you will be forever in our hearts." The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff for the loving and compassionate care given to Dad during his stay at Foyer Valade. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 28 at the Notre Dame de la Misericorde Roman Catholic Church in Ile-des-Chenes, MB. Cremation has taken place and interment of the cremated remains will follow in the Ile-des-Chenes Cemetery.
