MILDRED RAGNHILD EMELIA BERG (nee FINNEY) Peacefully on Friday, October 24, 2003, at the Grace Hospital, Millie passed away with her family by her side. Millie was born in Nykarleby, Finland on December 23, 1923, the daughter of Charles and Elsie Finney (nee Gustafson) and the younger sister of Verna. The family came to Canada in 1929 and resided first in Red Lake, then Flin Flon and later Winnipeg. Millie married Peter Berg of Inwood, on November 27, 1948. In 1950 they moved to Arborg with their son Leonard where they lived until 1955. During this time their daughters, Shirley and Beverley were born. They moved to Winnipeg and have lived there since. Millie worked as a stenographer for many years. She was a devoted wife and mother and loved being with family and friends. She extended a warm welcome to everyone who visited and had a great sense of humour. She will be sadly missed by those who love her. Her warm infectious laugh will remain in our hearts forever and we are grateful for the memories she gave us. Millie was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Elsie Finney; and sister Verna Davies. She is survived by her husband Peter; her son Leonard Berg (Glenda) daughters, Shirley Rose (George) and Beverley Hardy; grandchildren, Glenn, Jason, Melanie, Michael, Christopher, Martin, Kelly, and Meghan; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; sister in-law Edith McDowell; brothers-in-law, Alex Berg and George Barkwell. The family would like to thank all the staff in 3 North at the Grace Hospital for their care and compassion. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 11:00 a.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., Aubrey Street entrance. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the CNIB or the Canadian Cancer Society. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
