EVA MARY KEYSER (nee PAUWELS) Mom passed away suddenly at her home in Neepawa on Friday, October 24, 2003. She was born the eldest of nine children on March 14, 1920 in Goch, Germany. Her family immigrated to Rockglen area of Saskatchewan in 1924. On August 5, 1943 she married Joseph John Keyser of Maitland area. While Dad was serving in the army during the Second World War Mom lived with her parents on a farm at Quinton, SK. Their son was born there. Following the end of the war while Dad was working in "the bush" Mom was employed as a Nurses Aide in Port Arthur Fort William Hospital. In the early 1950s they started farming and Mom took on the challenge of being a farmers wife. In quick succession her son became a brother to three little sisters. "Three girls in four years." What a lot of work! Mom, missing the activities and presence of her children took a waitressing job at the Plumas Cafe. Ten years later she retired happy to have time to spoil her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Joe of 52 years. She leaves to mourn her son John (Norma), their children Ryan (Tara), Craig (Renee) three daughters, Margaret-Ann (Vic) Post, their children Lori-Ann (Chris), Ian (Stacey), and Steven; Rose Marie (Nick) Paley, their daughter Tamara; Loretta (Dan) McKay their daughter Heather. Five great-grandchildren and numerous other family members. Prayers will be held on Monday, October 27 at 8:00 p.m. in Clarkes Funeral Chapel, Gladstone, MB. Funeral Mass will be held at St.Dominics Roman Catholic Church, Neepawa, MB on Tuesday, October, 28 at 2:00 p.m. with Father Yolando Gamallo officiating. Interment will follow in the Plumas Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba. Clarkes Funeral Home, Gladstone in care of arrangements.
