GIACOMINA ANASTASIO (nee ABIUSI) It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Giacomina Anastasio, on Monday, October 27, 2003, at the St. Boniface General Hospital at the age of 62 years. Giacomina was born May 14, 1941 in Miglierina, Catanzaro, Italy. She is survived by her husband Mario; her children, Antonio (Pina), James (Karen), Danny (Zeljka) and two grandchildren, Nina and Ava Giacomina. She is also survived by her brother Emilio (Sara) sister Maria (Frank) brother-in-law, Guiseppe (Maria) Anastasio; sister-in-law, Maria Anastasio and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Anna and Giacomo; brother Antonio. Giacomina came to Canada in 1957. In September of 1961 she married the love of her life, Mario. Together with Mario she raised three sons, which she was very proud of. For those who knew Giacomina they knew what a loving, generous and caring person she really was. She has touched all our lives in a very special way. We will miss her and cherish our precious memories we shared with her. The family wishes to thank all the doctors and staff of the St. Boniface Hospital for their care. Prayers will be held Wednesday, October 29 at 7:30 p.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 30 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Mgr. Norman Chartrand officiating. Entombment will follow in Chapel of Eternal Memories Mausoleum, 1501 Waverley St. Pallbearers will be Ralph Masi, Jack Abiusi, Frank Guzzi, Dave Masi, Adam Masi and Marc Guzzi. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave, ON109, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
