Date of Passing: Oct 26, 2003
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIRENE ANN MILLER Through tears, we sadly announce the passing of our beloved daughter, sister and most loved aunty, Irene, after a brief illness on Sunday, October 26, 2003 at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg. Irene leaves to mourn her mother Dorothy; sister Marilyn (Colin) and brother Brian (Elizabeth), along with their families, many relatives and friends in Manitoba and across Canada. She will be especially missed by her "babies", Erin (Bug) and Robin (Bobby) Ringland; Miranda (Mandy) and William (Wills) Miller. She lavished all the love and attention she could give and acted like they were her very own. Her babies will now have her as their guardian angel. They will truly and deeply miss her influence on their lives. Irene was predeceased by her Dad, Clifford in 2001; her little sister Maureen Angela; baby brother Richard Clyde; grandparents, Anne and Clyde Miller; Bella and Richard Monias, Big "Bro" Ernest Monias; uncle Alan and most recently, her beloved uncle Wayne. Irene was born on August 10, 1960 in Gimli. She was raised and educated in Selkirk. An accomplished artist, she was able to pursue her passion of bead and leatherwork into a job she loved. A labour of love, her and Mom spent countless hours making the moccasins, mukluks, mitts and many other beautiful pieces of art that people ordered and proudly wore. She was especially pleased to be asked by Parks Canada to replicate artifacts and to produce wearable pieces of period costume reproductions to be used in various museums across Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Irene and Mom made many friends at the festivals and craft sales they attended throughout the years. Her laughing, smiling presence at these events will be missed. A heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Selkirk General Hospital; the HSC GD4 unit and the ICU staff. The care and understanding they gave, will never be forgotten. The family would also like to thank paramedic Ted Rosser for his caring and compassion in making Irene comfortable in the ambulance ride into Winnipeg. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 1 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk with cremation to follow. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
