NICHOLAS PAWLUK It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Nicholas Pawluk, on Saturday, October 25, 2003. Nick was born February 25, 1927 in Cooks Creek, MB. He lived in the same community for nearly his entire lifetime with a few years in Toronto when he was recruited for military service. It was during this time that he met his wife, Anne. Nick and Anne returned to Cooks Creek to raise their children on the family farm. They were married for 38 years until Annes death in 1986. Nick was a lifetime member of the Cooks Creek Immaculate Conception Ukrainian Catholic Church, serving for many years as a church elder. Nick worked for the CNR and retired in 1987. He was predeceased by his wife Anne and three children, James, Jerry and Iris. Nick is survived by his seven daughters, Carol Koslowsky (Frank), Barbara Litchie (Bud), Diana Behrends (Allan), Linda Kruchak (Victor), Annette Addy (George), Noella Pawluk, Patricia Pawluk; grandchildren Ian, Sean, Darlene, Joanne, Brenda, Matthew, Lauressa, Joshua, Daniel, Lucas, Crystal (Daryl), Geoffrey, Lisa, Jordan and Nicholas; and great-granddaughter Alicia. Prayers will be said on Thursday, October 30, at 7:30 p.m. in the Immaculate Conception Ukrainian Catholic Church, Cooks Creek. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, October 31 at 10:00 a.m., also at the church with Rev. Fr. Taras Kowch officiating. Interment will follow in Cooks Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers are Ian Koslowsky, Matthew Litchie, Joshua Litchie, Daniel Litchie, Geoffrey Behrends and Daryl Mueller. In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so desire, memorial contributions can be made to Cooks Creek Immaculate Conception Ukrainian Catholic Church, Box 35, Group 23, R.R. #2, Dugald, MB R0E 0K0, or a charity of their choice.
