Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTHOMAS LAIDLAW December 28, 1914 - October 18, 2003 Thomas Laidlaw passed away after a valiant struggle dealing with the stress surrounding the tragic circumstances of the death of his life partner. Tommys family & friend Jake were by his side comforting him. He is survived by cousins including Catherine, Elsie & Jack as well as second cousins. Tommy will be fondly remembered & missed by those that knew him. He was a generous, kind man. He lived all of his life in Winnipeg except during the Second World War where he served entertaining troops as a member of the Canadian Army Show. Many Winnipeg residents enjoyed his creations in the Eatons Santa Claus Parade as well as Eatons windows & store decorations. Tommy was a great pianist & composer. His music was enjoyed by many including patrons of The Grill Room. The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nursing staff of The Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre for their compassionate, dedicated care and friends Bob and Bryan for their support. We especially thank his devoted neighbour Jake whose daily visits enriched Tommys life by helping him remain independent and with his dogs brought Tommy joy. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Cremation has taken place and his remains will be placed with his parents at Brookside Cemetery.
