MARJORIE IRENE LITTLE (McCORVIE) Irene lived a full life between her birth on February 19, 1918 and her death in Dauphin on October 26, 2003. Left to celebrate her life are her sons and daughters, Lance of Ponoka, Alberta, Richard (Karen) of Winnipeg, Carol Armit of Regina, Barb Francois (Ron) of Winnipeg, and Pam (Don Waters) of Banff; brothers and sisters, Spark and Lorna McCorvie, and Glady and Dick Halliburton. Irene was predeceased by her parents, Barbara and Henry McCorvie; husband Jack Little; daughter Lynn McCrea; brother Bert; and sisters, Alma, Eva, Eddie and Margaret. Irene will be missed by her grandchildren, Darcy Little, Vincent Little, Steven (Corrina) Little, Stacey (Wayne) Beaubien, Irene and Eric Armit, Krista, Nadine and Matthew Francois; and her great-grandchildren, Miranda, Jared and Kelsey Little, Chandel, Raymond and Daniel Beaubien. Irene was a farm girl from birth and loved sunshine, flowers and being outdoors. She attended Haley School and completed high school at MacKenzie School in Dauphin. In 1939 Irene and Jack Little were married and lived in Flin Flon, Winnipeg and Dauphin before moving to McCreary in 1952. Irene raised six children, helped run the drugstore, volunteered in the community, and opened her home to friends over the years. Irenes life in McCreary was remembered fondly for the friends that continued to offer her support and connection to the special years in the community. Renes love of bridge, curling, the drama club, horseracing, fastball, hair styling, dancing, organising ski club event and entertaining flourished during those years in McCreary. In 1978 Irene lost the love of her life when Jack died. Devastated but determined, Irene continued to operate Littles Drug Store. She found the contact with customers and the comradery of employees helped her cope with her loss. Irenes children are proud of her accomplishments as a business woman and know this was important to her. In 1983, Irene married Rex Boughen and moved back to Dauphin. In her new life Irene enjoyed tennis, travelling, bowling, games of chance, dancing and of course her love of cards. She was dedicated to her family and enjoyed visiting with them. Irene cherished her time with her niece Linda McCorvie. She felt fortunate to have physicians like Trina Mathison, Dr. Lysack and Sandra Lofgren to care for her. Their respect for her independent nature was appreciated. Irenes family extend their thanks to the nurses and auxiliary staff for their individual care given to Irene while in the Dauphin Hospital. Irenes family will remember her as a mother that loved each and every one of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Thursday, October 30 at McCreary, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the McCreary/Alonsa Health Centre Palliative Care Unit or the Dauphin Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Dobchuk Funeral Home, McCreary, was entrusted with arrangements.
