VICTORIA DOREEN STANNARD (nee HIGGS) Passed away peacefully, Wednesday, October 29, 2003. Predeceased by her husband Leonard, infant son James, brother Jim and sister Vera. Doreen is survived by her son Ken of Canmore, AB; daughter Barbara of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Brent, Paul, Tara (James) and Nathan Bodnarchuk; great-grandchildren, Danika, Tate and Katia Bodnarchuk; sister Joan Skelton (Dyson). Doreen was born June 4, 1917 in Wales and immigrated with her family to Winnipeg as a child. The family would like to express their appreciation for the care provided to Doreen over the past two and one half years, while residing at the Golden West Centennial Lodge. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 4, at 1:00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1858 Portage Ave. If friends so desire, charitable donations may be made to The OC Centre, 204-825 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1M5 (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) or the Kidney Foundation, 200-55 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 1L8.
