WILLIAM STENGEL It is with great sadness that we announce William Stengel passed away peacefully at Concordia Hospital on Thursday, October 30, 2003 at the age of 83 years. Bill was predeceased by his mother and father, Florentine and August; his brothers, George, Julius, Henry and Ted; and by his sisters, Martha Small, Elsie Hoffman and Lena Hildebrand. Bill was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his loving wife Anne, daughters, Noreen and Elaine; brother Adolf; sister Ida Jobb; sisters-in-law, Thelma, Annie and Edna; numerous nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. Bill worked at the CNR Shops in the Stores Department from 1943 to 1981. Everyone who worked with him referred to him as "Casey". Bill loved the outdoors. Throughout his life he enjoyed hunting, fishing and swimming. Bill was very proud of his family, a loving husband and father who valued family life, spending and enjoying a great deal of his time with them. Bill was a man who was always willing to help others in time of need. He could be found talking with his friends and neighbours at all times. He will be missed for his kindness, generosity and sense of humour. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and hospital staff at Concordia Hospital who attended to him daily. Funeral service will be conducted by Rev. John Holmen on Tuesday, November 4 at 1:00 p.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. Burial to follow in the Transcona Cemetery.
