STANLEY DONALD KOWALSKI It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Stan Kowalski on Friday, October 31, 2003 at the age of 86 years at Seven Oaks General Hospital. He is survived by his wife Frances of 61 years of marriage; son Wally; daughters, Joanne (Bill), Joyce and Roberta (Ken) son Stan; grandchildren, Chris, Scott, Shelley, Bryce, Dennis, Curtis, Geoff, Andrew and Kathleen. Stan was predeceased by his parents and sister Jean. Born in Winnipeg, on October 7, 1917, Stan lived most of his life in Stony Mountain from 1927 until the present. He took over care of the family dairy farm when his father passed away in 1941. After selling the dairy herd, Dad continued farming grain and raising beef cattle until 2000. Working his land and caring for all the animals on his farm gave Stan much enjoyment throughout his life. He was an avid duck and goose hunter and liked fishing. He appreciated knowledge and made sure that all of his children attended college or university. He had an original sense of humour which he passed down to his children and grandchildren. His strength and character will be missed by family and friends. Prayers are to be held Monday, November 3 at 7:30 p.m. at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, 433 Main St., Stonewall. A funeral service in celebration of Stans life will be held on Tuesday, November 4 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Josephs Roman Catholic Church, Stony Mountain. Fr. Gerald Langevin will officiate. Interment will follow at the Christ Church Cemetery, Stony Mountain. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements. 204-467-2525.
