Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPASQUALINA DeLUCA (nee SPARANESE) Our mom passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2003. Though untimely and suddenly, God must have needed His angel. She was truly an angel and we are so blessed that God allowed her to stay and give us the time and memories we shared with her. Pasqualina DeLuca, was born January 10, 1931 in Cicciano, Italy. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Carmine and Vincenzo Sparanese and sister Marfisia Albo. Lina (as everyone knew her), leaves to mourn her husband, Pasquale DeLuca; her children, Silvia and Mario Aiello, Enza and Nick Conicella, Bruno and Anna DeLuca; her grandchildren, Katherina, Jessika, Alessandra, Bruno, Anna-Bella and Pasqualina. Her brothers, Roger (Chiara) and family, Barbato (Rosa) and family, Amerigo (Barb) and family; brother-in-law Franco Albo and family; sister-in-law Assunta DeLuca and family; aunt Maria DeStefano and family. A special thank you to Ida and Rick Bel, Angie and Conicella family for their amazing love and support. Thank you also to all our friends who have shown so much support. To those special people in both Winnipeg and Victoria, who looked out for our mom, she cherished you all as we all do. To the staff at Health Sciences Centre, thank you for your support in our difficult time - we wish you could have known our mom. How does one capture the essence of a woman who is beyond mere words. She was truly a "unique sensation"; like a feeling that you simply had to experience in order to know and feel her soul, her spirit and essence. Yet words are all we have and so with them, I can tell you this. I can tell you she was amazing, gifted, talented, fun-loving, generous beyond limitation, full of unconditional love, hard-working, humble and a friend to all. I can tell you she was a writer, a poet whose poems embraced the life she lived - a life not always easy but beautiful nonetheless, because of her presence in it. All who met her were truly touched by her wisdom, her sense of humour, her compassion and love. You couldnt help but fall in love with her. Though simple in both appearance and life-style; material things did not merit value. What she valued most, was her family, friends and even nature. The animals, the birds - the beauty of natures artistry. She would marvel at the fall sky, the brilliant red and yellow colours illuminated by the rising sun. To experience such beauty made her so happy and filled her with peace. To our mom, God and nature were the truest and finest artists. And I can tell you, she was, above all, our mother who always gave with her heart, took on our worries, lived simply, gave more and expected less. She always felt she never had so much to give us, but she was our gift and we couldnt ask for anything more. We are a part of her and because of her; who we are and what we have, is truly special. Thank you ma for everything - for being a truly remarkable woman who has given us so many wonderful memories to carry on with us. Dear Ma, Papa loves you so much. You were his guide and his best friend. Words of endearment werent his style but you know what he felt in his heart for you, just like you know what we all feel for you. You came back to find your way home with Nonno, Nonna, Marfisia and Nonna Carmela. Watch over us, our angel - until we see you again. A mass in our moms celebration will be held on Wednesday, November 5 at 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Victory (Winnipeg), 254 Arnold. Father Henryk Laciak to officiate. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Pasqualina DeLuca care of the Childrens Hospital Foundation, CE501-840 Sherbrook, R3A 1S1. P.
