MARJORIE FLORENCE SHRIMPTON (nee SMITH) Suddenly, but peacefully, it is with sadness that we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother, Marjorie, on Wednesday, November 5, 2003, at the Grace General Hospital, at the age of 72 years, after a brief illness. Left to cherish her memory are her children and their families, Patricia and Alex, Marilyn and Dean, Brian and Norma, Susan and Debi, Colleen and Kevin and Wendy and Allen; grandchildren, David and Lisa, Jennifer and Rory, Sean, Michael, Kevin, Lisa, Nicole, Steven and Riley; siblings, Irene Harte, Mabel Cameron, Eleanor Metcalfe and Ted Smith; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Richard in 1993; her parents; brothers, Joe and Jim and sister Kay. Marge was born on January 5, 1931 in Winnipeg, on Alexander Avenue, to Joseph and Martha Smith (nee Tate). She grew up in the Brooklands area and later married Richard Shrimpton on August 22, 1952. Together, while working hard, they raised their six children, which was the source of so much pride, joy and happiness. Throughout her working career, Mom worked for a number of stores including Tops Groceries, Dominion Store and Eatons, but worked hardest at home. Even though she was busy, she was never too busy to put the kettle on and have a cup of tea or spoil her grandchildren. Christmas and birthdays were amazing baking festivals that everyone benefited from, especially the kids. She loved being with people and nothing stopped her from her Bingo days at Deer Lodge Community Club where she had the great support of many kind friends. Marges funeral service will be held on Monday, November 10 at 11:00 a.m. in Deer Lodge United Church, 2093 Portage Ave., at Belvidere Street, with Rev. Peter Douglas officiating. Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Ave. Special thanks to Debi for being there in so many ways, you were a great comfort to Mom and she loved you. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in Marjories memory may be made to the Grace Hospital Foundation, 300 Booth Drive, Winnipeg, MB, R3J 3M7. We love you Mom and we will all miss you terribly. WOJCIKS ALL BELIEFS & FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM 897 - 4665
