SELMA FRIESEN (KLASSEN)

SELMA FRIESEN (nee KLASSEN) On November 6, 2003 at Donwood Manor, Winnipeg, Selma passed away at the age of 92 years. She was predeceased by her husband Frank, her sister Anne, and her brother Frank Klassen. She is survived by her daughter Irma (Herb) Bjarnason; three grandchildren, Lorie (Doug) Eidse of Morris, Garth and Richard Bjarnason of Vancouver; one great-grandchild Soren Eidse of Morris; and brother Henry (Helen) Klassen of Brandon. Special thanks to the caring staff at Donwood Manor. Selma left Russia in the 1920s and immigrated to Mexico. She then moved to Manitoba and settled near Griswold. She met and married Frank Friesen and together they farmed there for many years before moving to Winnipeg. Selma loved to cook and loved to work. The Mennonite work ethic was deeply ingrained in Selma and even when she was approaching 90, her biggest disappointment was that she couldnt work! Selma, if God needs a helping hand, youll be first in line. "Now cracks a noble heart Good night sweet oma And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest!" No formal funeral service will be held.
