STELLA SHERBY (nee KOMADOWSKI) Peacefully, on November 6, 2003, at the Kin Place Personal Care Home, Stella Sherby, our beloved mother and grandmother, passed away at age 89. Stella was predeceased by her parents; husband Ben in 1970; by her daughter Adeline in 1939; her brothers, Jack, Stanley, Frank, Edward and Joe; as well as her sisters, Bertha, Violet, Jean and Nellie. She leaves to mourn her passing her children, Peter Sherby of Oakbank, Paul (Pearl) Sherby of Winnipeg, Florence (Ray) Tchir and Walter Sherby, all of Oakbank; also her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Stella lived on the farm all her married life. Here she and Ben raised their family. She was a wonderful, caring mother. An excellent cook, she loved preparing her Ukrainian and Polish dishes, especially for her family and friends. She also enjoyed her gardening and flower beds. She was always busy making her home a place of welcome. We, her family, wish to extend our thanks to all the staff at Kin Place, for the excellent care they provided Mom during the past two and one-half years. A private family service was held on Monday, November 10 with burial beside her husband Ben, at the Immaculate Conception Parish Cemetery with Father Taras Kowch officiating. A memorial donation to Kin Place Personal Care Home, 680 Pine St., Oakbank, or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be an appreciated tribute to Stellas generous, thoughtful nature.
