SIMM (nee JAMIESON) Suddenly on Wednesday, November 5, 2003 at the Health Science Centre with her family by her side, Moira left this world for a better place. Moira was born December 25, 1934 to Sam and Ethel Jamieson at Carman Hospital. She was raised in Sperling, MB, and the West End of Winnipeg, graduating from Daniel McIntyre Collegiate. She has one brother Ed (Val) and one sister Dianne, along with brothers and sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. Moira married Jim Simm on January 21, 1956 and was blessed with five children, Dr. Jim (Heather), Donna, Norman, Ted and Vicki (Carey) and four wonderful grandchildren, Aaron, Colin, Holly and Jesse who were the love of her life. She worked for Trans Canada Air (Air Canada) until marriage, then Office Overload and a dozen years at Marshall Wells until retirement. Moira enjoyed travelling after retirement throughout Canada the U.S. and Mexico, including 10 winters in South Padre Island, Texas. She was a patron of the arts, the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and the Manitoba Theatre Centre and loved her casino trips, the V.L.T.s and was a competitive cribbage player. Family gatherings such as Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving and birthdays were of utmost importance to her. Moira was very active in fraternal organizations. She was Past Worthy Matron of Patricia Chapter No. 8, Order of the Eastern Star, Past Grand Chaplain and Past Grand Representative to Nevada; Past President of the Khartum Ladies Auxiliary Bowling League and Past President of the Auxiliary; as a member of the Daughters of the Nile, she was Past President and Captain of the Patrol, and Past Princess Chaplain; a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, St. James Branch No. 4 and Past Secretary of the St. James Legion Over 60 Club. She was also a past volunteer at the Winnipeg Cancer Clinic, Health Science Centre, Boo at the Zoo and childrens activities, meat draws and poppy campaigns at the St. James Legion. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 10 at Silver Heights United Church, 199 Garrioch St, at Mount Royal Avenue. Honourary pallbearers will be Irene Campbell, Viola Perkins, Ruth Newton, Beth Darrach, Shirley James and Vicki Bilecki. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102 - 310 Broadway, R3C 0S6, or the Khartum Ladies Auxiliary, 1155 Wilkes Ave., R3P 1B9. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
