Emil is predeceased by his father Imrich Stefkovic; grandfather and grandmother, Adam Bajzik and Anne Bajzik. Emil is survived by his mother Mary Stefkovic; his brother John (Victoire) nieces, Gladys Stefkovic (Maynard Bell), Grace (Douglas Bazinet), Phyllis (Garth Cook) great nieces and nephew, Danielle and Bradley Bazinet, Amanda and Kelly Cook. Emil was born in Podhradie, Czechoslovakia. He immigrated to Canada with his parents and his mothers extended family in 1937. He attended Meadowvale School then going on to St. Pauls College and Red River College where he got his Draftsmans Degree. He then was employed for four years at Amalgamated Electric and Dominion Lumber for 39 years. In his younger years, Emil was involved in baseball, bowling and curling. He always kept his love of reading and when his eyesight failed, audiotapes could not replace reading a good book. Emil helped on the family farm, driving grain trucks, baling and running errands until he lost his eyesight. He enjoyed his yearly vacations to the U.S. and always enjoyed bringing back souvenirs for his nieces and in later years his great nieces and nephew. Emils nieces and great nieces and great nephew always brought him great joy. His nieces will always be grateful to him for driving them to 4-H meetings, movies and numerous other activities.
