Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFREDERICK (JACK) JOHN HEFFERTON September 24, 1939- November 5, 2003 It is with very heavy hearts that we are sharing the passing of Jack Hefferton, at the age of 64. His entire family will sadly miss him, including his wife Darlene; daughters, Alana (Gordon) and Amberley (Kai) and his cherished grandsons, Brett (3) and Kyle (1). Jack was predeceased by his father Joseph and will be lovingly remembered by his mother Jean; siblings, Joan, Walter (Gertie), Conrad (Cecilia), Mac (Phyllis), Audrey (Pierce) and brother Selwyn and their families, all of whom reside in Newfoundland and Labrador. Jack was born in Newtown, NF on September 24, 1939. As a young man he worked as a medical assistant and was one of the first employees of the iron ore mine located in Labrador City. He later moved to several different locations including Winnipegosis, Swan River, Flin Flon, Hamilton and Brampton with his young family to pursue his career with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. In more recent years he worked as a carpenter. He was a very talented handyman who could repair or build almost anything. Dad had a truly kind and generous heart. He lived to spend time with his two grandsons Brett and Kyle. He loved taking Brett on small field trips. They had wonderful fun together chasing the geese and playing in the park. He also enjoyed the time spent with his close friends and always spoke very highly of all of the people around him. Jack wanted to assist his family whenever he could. He would routinely help his daughter Amberley with her new small business. He loved being able to help Alana by spending time with her boys. He had traveled back to his hometown of Newtown this past summer. This gave him the opportunity to visit with his mother, brothers, sisters and their families, a visit we know he treasured. He will be sorely missed by all of those who knew and loved him. "Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, That saved a wretch like me.... I once was lost but now am found, Was blind, but now, I see.
