Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPAUL EDWARD FIDELAK Born September 3, 1923 The family would like to announce the passing of our father, grandfather and brother on Friday, November 7, 2003 at the Victoria General Hospital. Paul was predeceased by his wife Rose in 2001; and son Richard in 1991. He will be lovingly remembered by his children Donald and wife Pauline, Robert and wife Margaret of North Cobalt, ON, Donna, and Glenn and wife Janice of Okotoks, AB, daughter-in-law Sylvia; grandchildren Jonathon and wife Karen, Daryl and wife Marija, Jason, Benjamin and wife Keri, Jennifer, Steven, Michael, David and Joshua; great-grandchildren Lauren, Mackenzie and Braden; as well as brother Rudy Fidelack; and sisters Elsie Hallet and Lorraine Dietrich. Paul and Rose were married in 1942 and raised their family in the Weston area. Dad was transferred to Portage La Prairie in 1972, where he worked as Branch Manager of Acklands Grainger until his retirement in 1988. Dad continued to live in Portage until he moved to the Poseidon Care Centre in 2002. Paul was also an active member of the 402 Squadron Air Force Auxiliary and retired with the rank of Master Warrant Officer. Family was always first and foremost with Dad. Family gatherings with children and grandchildren were especially important. Loving time and effort was spent in preparation to make every event special. Paul spent many hours in his garden, which was legendary in the neighbourhood. The family would like to express their thanks to Dr. Hartley and the nurses and staff of the Poseidon Care Centre for their professional and compassionate care of our father, grandfather and brother. A Celebration of Pauls life will be held on Wednesday, November 12, at 3:00 p.m., at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, with Reverend Scott MacAulay, of Sparling United Church, officiating. Interment and reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, should friends so desire, donations in memory of Paul may be made to Sparling United Church, 1609 Elgin Avenue West, Winnipeg, R3E 1C4.
