After custom threshing and well drilling with his father, he went to work in the mines at Berens River. In 1964 he boldly ventured into his own business, "Beachside Service", Winnipeg Beach, until his retirement in 1986. During his time in business he was well liked and respected by staff, business associates and customers, many of whom would stop by the garage or the house to spend time with him in appreciation of his friendship and his mechanical skills. The family is grateful for the dedicated care that Ross received from the staff on Willow Unit at Fred Douglas Lodge and to the Palliative Care staff at Seven Oaks General Hospital. A special thank you goes out to Rosss former friends and customers from Beachside Service for being an important part of his life. Honorary pallbearers are grandsons Bradley, David and Jeffery Onofreychuk, Gerald Onofreychuk, Larry Skwarek and Michael Sebastyanko. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating Rosss life will be held on Wednesday, November 12, at 1:00 p.m. in the Lady of the Lake Church, Winnipeg Beach, MB, with Rev. Lynn Stevens officiating. Interment of ashes to be held at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined.
