Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEUGENE NOWOSAD 1923 - 2003 Eugene (Evhan) Bohdan Nowosad, born May 27, 1923 passed away peacefully with his family by his side at his daughters home in Pontiac, Quebec on Sunday November 2, 2003 at the age of 80. He was predeceased by his wife Peggy; their son Eugene Bruce; and his brother Arnold (Zeke). Eugene will always be lovingly remembered by his children, Marlon, John (Linda), Kathy (Tom), Peggy Ann (Greg), Kimberly (Tod) and his grandchildren, Darwin, Christopher, Daniel, Mark, Sophia, and his brother Wes and his sister Larysa. Eugene lived in southern Manitoba for most of his life. He was born in Oakburn and raised in Holmfield. Eugene served as a bombadeir in the 115 squadron of the Royal Airforce from October 19, 1942 and received an honourable discharge October 10, 1945. He survived 34 tours over Germany before returning to Canada. He married Peggy Kerr in 1950, helped raise their six children and finally retired to Killarney. His career as a customs agent in 60s and 70s took him to various Canada Customs offices in Manitoba, but his heart was in nature itself. He loved raising his mink and foxes, hunting, trapping and feeding the deer in his yard. He also enjoyed many hours flying with his son, brother and others from the flying club. He loved the sky view of the lakes and fields around the Killarney area. Eugene also enjoyed shooting pool in his younger years and playing cards, especially crib and hearts. The family wishes to thank all his relatives and friends for their many kindnesses. Friends may call for visitation on November 13 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. or November 14 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Killarney Funeral Home. Memorial service will be held on Friday, November 14 at 1:00 p.m. There will be a graveside burial in Holmfield and a luncheon to follow at the Royal Canadian Legion in Killarney. Friends who so desire may make donations to the Canadian Cancer Society. The family would also like to invite you to attend a memorial service at the same time for our mom, Peggy Nowosad, who passed away on September 12, 2003 in British Columbia. Killarney Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
