Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGRACE WAKEFIELD (nee LAWRENCE) Peacefully on Friday, November 7, 2003, Grace Wakefield passed away at the Victoria General Hospital at the age of 86. Grace started working at the Bay immediately following her graduation from St. Johns High School in 1934. She married Lorne in 1942. They travelled across Canada from Vancouver to Nova Scotia and New Brunswick while Lorne was in the Air Force. After the war, they lived in Winnipeg where they raised two children, Jane and Paul. Grace was an active member of The Fort Garry United Church and enjoyed her church circle and sewing club. Grace worked at Eatons part time for 17 years until her retirement. She moved into Riverside Lions Manor in 1984, even before the building was finished. During her almost 20 years there, she made many wonderful friends. She was predeceased by her parents Jim and Anne Lawrence; brothers, Jim, Angus and Bill; and sisters, Annabell, Helen and Peggy; her husband Lorne in 1972; and her beloved daughter Jane just a year ago. Grace is survived by her son Paul; and grandchildren, Brent and Laurel; son-in-law Lyle Scott; stepgranddaughter Kelly and family. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Graces memory to The Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200 - 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0R6. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Riverside Lions Manor, 188 Worthington, on Friday, November 14 at 3:00 p.m. THOMSON Funeral Chapels - 669 Broadway - 783-7211
