ANNE WASYLIK (nee SUL) 1922 - 2003 Sadly, we announce the passing of our dear mother and grandmother, Anne Wasylik, on Sunday, November 9, 2003 at the Selkirk General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Anne was born on January 4, 1922 and raised in East Selkirk. She worked in a candy store in Winnipeg for a few years, before returning home to look after her ailing mother. She married Mike in 1947, worked side by side with him on the family farm and raised five children. She taught her children the importance of family and instilled in them her life values and appreciation of nature. Anne loved being with people and always had a positive outlook on life. She made everyone feel welcome, and it wasnt unusual to have company at Sunday dinners at the farm. After moving to Selkirk in 1994, she spent many hours with her seniors groups enjoying outings, card games and companionship. She was a voracious reader and was well on her way through the Selkirk Library. She was predeceased by her husband Mike and will be lovingly remembered by son Ron Wasylik and daughters, Pat Button (Norm), Judy Kilburn (Neil), Louise Kelso (Jim) and Wendy Wasylik (Pat). She also leaves grandchildren, Claire Button, Scott (Collette) and Michael (Sue) Kilburn and Sarah, Rhys and Adam Kelso; sister Mary Macintyre and brother John Sul. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, November 12 at 7:00 p.m. at the Sobering Funeral Chapel, Beausejour, MB. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, November 13 at 2:00 p.m. in the Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 271 Sophia St., Selkirk, MB with Rev. Fr. Harry Olinyk and Rev. Fr. Walter Klimchuk officiating. The service will terminate at the church with interment at a later date. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Dr. Lindenschmidt and all the staff at Red River Place and Selkirk General Hospital for their loving care and attention during the final months of her life. They would also like to thank the staff of the Selkirk Home Care Organization who, over the years, provided not only wonderful care, but also great friendship. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald St., Suite 200, Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6 or to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10 - 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 4G2.
