GILBERTINA RAKEL EIRIKSSON Peacefully with family at her side, Rakel passed away at the Lundar Personal Care Home on November 10, 2003, at the age of 85. Mom was predeceased by her husband Gudjon (John) 1996; father and mother; two brothers, Geiri and Eirikur; sister Steina Petersen; two brothers-in-law, Archie Johnson, Archie Petersen; sister-in-law Isabelle Erickson and daughter-in-law Lenore Erickson. Mom lived her entire life in the Lundar area where she devoted her life to her husband, family and friends. She was a life long member of the Ladies Aid Bjork and the Lundar Lutheran Church. Mom was a very compassionate, caring selfless person, with a great sense of humour. Everyone who knew her loved her. She leaves to cherish her memory, son Bob (Carol), their children Robin Morris (Graham), Thor (Chris), Erickur (Jamey) son Ken (Betty), their children, Coreena Muise (Keith), Collin (Danielle) daughter Alfreda Duffy (Tom), their child Kevin; son Emil, his children Lisa (Michael), Mark; son Larry (Karen), their children Kirstin Hack (Colin), Brock, Lindal (Kristin) son Jerry (Debbie), their children Jamie, Ryan (Aimee), Sean; daughter Alice Atkinson (Brian), their children T.J. and Joel; sister Sveina Johnson; sister-in-law Gudney Eirikson; nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 14 at the Lundar Lutheran Church with Pastor Nancy Walker officiating. Interment to follow in the Otto District Cemetery. The family is grateful for the dedicated service and loving care the staff at the Lundar Personal Care Home gave Mom, which was often above and beyond the call of duty. Thanks also to the Eriksdale Hospital staff and Home Care personnel. In lieu of flowers donations in Moms memory may be made to the Lundar Lutheran Church, Box 216, Lundar, MB R0C 1Y0, or to the Lundar Personal Care Home, Box 296, Lundar, MB R0C 1Y0.
