HELEN FLORENCE MORRISON With great sorrow the family announces the passing of Helen Florence Morrison on November 11, 2003 at Rosewood Lodge, Stonewall, MB. Left to cherish her memory are her son John; daughter Linda (Andy) son-in-law Alan; and grandchildren, Sarah, Kate, Bret, Cindy, Dean, Colleen, Sharron and Merillee. As well she had been surrounded in life with great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and an extended family that appreciated her charm and graces. She was predeceased by her husband Kent in 1999 and many will recall her constant pride of their "62 and one-half years" of marriage. She was also predeceased by her daughter Patricia; grandson Ross; her father and mother, Jack and Molly Buckle; her brothers, Jack, Charlie and Oscar Buckle. Helen resided in Rosser until she left with the man of her dreams upon their marriage in 1937 for Bissett, MB. After 13 years in the mining town, they returned to the Morrison family farm in Rosser and two years later to the Buckle family farm in Rosser. In 1992 a stroke limited her centennial celebration of the family farm. She overcame one of lifes upsets to return to a community and family life of commitment, sharing and love. Many of her grandchildren had their home away from home with their grandparents and 4H members had their mittens mended, pants stitched and lunches provided that surpassed their gusto to consume. "Mother" prided herself in her cooking and took Dads twinkling critique of "its no hell" as her challenge to always excel. We know she proved her point as her recipes and her cooking skills have through her family and friends spread out across North America. She strongly felt the limitations of her failing health over the past several years and over the past few weeks wanted to rejoin her husband as she knew he was waiting. It seems everyone she met became a new friend. Her old friends were with her or their path through life was recorded in her multitude of scrap books. A funeral service to celebrate her life and honour her passing will be held at MacKenzies Funeral Chapel in Stonewall on Monday, November 17 at 2:00 p.m. Helen wishes to go on record that the best home care service providers and health care providers in Manitoba have been at her beck and call and wishes to say "thanks Ducky" for the last time. If friends so desire, memorial donations to the charity of their choice. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall, in care of arrangements.
