VIOLA SIKORA (nee TYNDALL) Peacefully, on Tuesday, November 11, 2003, with her family by her side, Mom passed away at the Pinawa Hospital at the age of 77 years. She was predeceased by her husband in 1993 and daughters, Judy and Linda in infancy. Violet is survived by her seven children, Leona Otto (Ernie), Don Sikora (Lisa), Barb Hemminger (Jim), Pat Hemminger (Don), Brenda Ferens (Ron), Terry Humphries (Bernie) and Stan Sikora (Lisa) her grandchildren, Kevin Sikora, Sharon Park (Neil), Rob (Pam), Mike (Kari) Hemminger, Chris, Darren (Colleen) Otto, Alicia (Graham), and Daniel Ferens, Vanessa and Aaron Hemminger, Cody and Connor Humphries, Garrett and Kolton Sikora; great-grandchildren, Melissa, Matthew and Noah Park, William Sikora, Jesseca Hemminger, Kiersten and Khylie Otto; one sister Selma Demski; brother John (Kathie) Tyndall; daughter-in-law Pat Sikora and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Sophia; brothers, Fred, Hugo, Helmer, Carl and sister Annie. Mom was born July 29, 1926 in Riverland, MB where she attended Elementary School and graduated from High School in Pine Falls, MB. She met our Dad at the Lee River Hall where he played accordion in a band known as the Twilight Drifters. They got married September 21, 1944 and lived on the homestead in Brightstone, MB where they raised their family. After moving to Lac du Bonnet in 1988, Mom became a very active member of the Pioneer Club including the Clubs Kitchen Band where she played the washboard performing in every July 1st parade in Lac du Bonnet. Her favourite passions were bingo, gardening, floor curling, bowling and cards, just to name a few. She took pride in watching her grandchildren curl and play hockey and attended many concerts and recitals. Our family would like to express our appreciation to Dr. Olivier and staff at the Pinawa Hospital, St. Boniface Hospital and Selkirk Hospital for their continued care and support to our Mom and family during her stay. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 15, at 11:00 a.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, Beausejour.
