NOREEN HELEN FORBES (nee BLACK) Noreen Helen Forbes, born June 28, 1916, in Winnipeg, MB, died in Winnipeg on November 11, 2003, after prolonged ill-health, aged 87. Noreen was the youngest daughter of Sarah (Sadie) Susan Black and Edward Charles Black. She was a longtime resident of Thunder Bay (July 1963 to June 2002) and a former employee of the T. Eaton Company (Winnipeg). To the end she enriched her family and all who were fortunate to know her with her wisdom and lively wit. Mom was predeceased by her parents; her sister Sarah (Sadie) Caroline Prentice; and her brothers, Edward (Ted) William Black and Gordon Stirling Black. She is survived by her daughter Dr. Susan Forbes and her partner Dr. Lori Livingston (Stillwater Lake, NS) son David Forbes and his wife Connie and their children, Matthew and Jonathon (Birch River, MB) former daughter-in-law Janet (Inman) Forbes; and grandchildren, Shelly (Chris) Beckingham (Birch River), Karen (Jeff) Rogers (Stony Plain, AB), Jennifer (Peter) Jesso (Birch River) and David (Jennifer) Forbes (Winnipeg) as well as eight great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins; and sisters-in-law, Val Black (Winnipeg) and Kathy Black (Palm Desert, CA). Cremation has taken place with a family memorial to follow in May. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Canadian Lung Association. The family gratefully acknowledges the care and support Mom received during her final illness, from the Swan River Hospital and St. Boniface General Hospital, and especially her family in Winnipeg who gave immeasurable love and support.
